How To Clean Your Juicer

This might sound obvious but read the manual. It will tell you how to clean your juicer. Every juicer has different requirements - some have dishwasher safe parts, others have sharp blades that you need to be careful with.

There are some general tips we can give you though to help you clean your juicer.

Regular cleaning

Make sure you clean your juicer at least daily when you use it. Some juicers require you to clean them after juicing though others you can get away with cleaning once at the end. The quality of the juice drops in centrifugal juicers when pulp builds up inside the machine.

Clean after juicing

The sooner you clean after juicing, the easier the pulp should be to remove. This is important if you are juicing staining fruit and vegetables like beetroot.

Use a brush

Some centrifugal juicers come with a brush to clean the sieve as it usually is a fine mesh sieve and can often end up with small fibres trapped in it.

It may also be worth investing in a plastic rubber spatula to help scoop out excess pulp.

Allow time

When you juice, factor in 10 minutes to clean the machine. It may be sensible to do a family's jucing at the same time to minimise the number of washes required per day.
